| Dinner entertainment continued at 6:30pm with David Asing and Kamuela Kahoano of 'Akahi Productions playing a variety of island favorites. Both David and Kamuela perform at Big City Diner Waipio regularly for "Pau Hana Fridays". Their musical selection was a great welcome by guests in attendance and the prelude to the evening's formal program that began at 7pm. |

| The formal program began with Shannon Scott and Steve Uyehara introducing the Honorable Governor of Hawaii Linda Lingle who took the podium and said a few words before presenting Big City Diner's President Lane Muraoka with a Commendation recognizing the company's contributions to the community. The Governor was followed by Mr. Sidney Quintal the Director of Enterprise Services for the City and County of Honolulu who represented Mayor Muffi Hanneman who was not able to be in attendance. | After the formal presentations by the Governor and Director, everyone in attendance was amazed by the special video presentation that was produced by television sponsor KGMB9. Rather than having a traditional video slideshow, the video was a mock newscast of Sunrise on KGMB9 and featured Anchor Grace Lee. She took the audience back in time telling the story of Big City Diner's beginning and brought them all the way to the present following the evening's theme of "Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow". To cover the "Tomorrow" of the story she "sent it back LIVE" to Steve Uyehara her Co-Anchor Steve Uyehara who was also one of the Masters of Ceremony for the evening. Steve had Lane on the stage and interviewed him about other things of the company's history including how he came to decide on the company name "Big City Diner", as well as, questioned him on what he felt the future would bring for restaurant chain. This interview also covered Lane's message rather than having him deliver a "formal" speech. |

| The program continued with the introduction of Big City Diner's Corporate Management Team and General Managers followed by the recognition of the company's five and ten year employees. Robert Nitta and Byron Shimabukuro, General Managers of Big City Diner Ward and Kaimuki respectively delivered a few words "taking a look back" from an employees perspective as both started as "bus boys" at Big City Diner's inception. Their message was followed by the presentation of the 2008 Big City Diner All Star Awards which recognizes Team Member excellence throughout the year. Congratulations to all the Award Winners including our 2008 Employees' of the Year: Liane Kobayashi (Kaimuki), Kimmie Kailihiwa (Kailua), Linda Dowd-Novo (Ward), Donnald Hennig (Waipio) and Rona Tam (Pearlridge). |
