Big City Diner is proud to announce its efforts to assist in fundraising for the Dikito Children from Ewa Beach.These (4) four children abruptly loss both of their parents on Friday, April 25, 2008 during a Domestic Violence incident at their family home in Ewa Beach when their mother Della Dikito (38) was shot by her husband in front of their (2) youngest children and then turned the gun on himself. Please continue to support these local media outlets as they have also been generous enough to help promote assisting our own at home a priority before promoting the assistance of other countries.
 
Blayne Dikito is the eldest at age eighteen and the only son with an infant is now faced with caring for his younger sisters Raelyn (14), Bronlyn (13) and Breana (8). The children, now orphans are also faced with a $2600 monthly mortgage and everyday living expenses such as electricity, water and food while still trying to tend to their education.
 
Big City Diner employs (2) two of Della's sisters (the childrens mom) and wants to help them in a BIG way. We are asking for your support through supporting these fundraisers:

BIG CITY DINER HOSTS FUNDRAISER FOR DIKITO CHILDREN
MAHALO HAWAII & FRIENDS ABROAD!
 
On Tuesday, May 27, 2008 Big City Diner hosted a special fundraising drive to help the four Dikito Children after being orphaned on April 25, 2008 when their father murdered Della Lynn Dikito (Mother) and then turned the gun on himself. As of June 21, 2008 Big City Diner announced that they raised more than $10,000 for the kids from Ewa Beach. The company employs two of Della's sisters and the money will be used to help pay the mortgage so that the kids may remain in the home as they wish.
 
Big City Diner donated 15% of sales when guests presented a special flyer at all (5) five of its locations.
VERIZON WIRELESS DONATES PHONES & MINUTES TO CHILDREN
 
Verizon Wireless has generously donated four wireless telephones to the Dikito Children through their Hope Line program which aims to help victims of Domestic Violence. The phones are loaded with pre-paid minutes and will help to alleviate the cost of Blayne, Brelynn, Bronlyn and Brenna's current mobile service for the months to come. It will allow them to communicate with each other, their family and counselors.
